ULA社とBlueOrigin社のBE-4開発に関する論評

ULA社の発表では "The BE-4 is not a direct replacement for the RD-180 that powers ULA’s Atlas V rocket, however two BE-4s are expected to provide the engine thrust for the next generation ULA vehicles." とされており、BE-4は必ずしもAtlas VのRD-180の代替として考えられているわけではない（もっとも同社TwitterではRD-180代替も示唆されているが）こと、および、BlueOrigin社は有人輸送手段の開発を言及していることから、BE-4は有人打上げ用新型機体のブースタエンジンを想定しているとも考えられる。
