Eutelsat社とESA, ソフトウェアによるアンテナパタン制御を搭載したQuantum衛星の開発を開始

ESAからEutelsatへの契約は180Mユーロ（打ち上げ費は含まない）。Eutelsatの負担は非開示。衛星はSSTL社製で約3500kgの化学推進衛星。CASA社のフェーズドアレイアンテナを採用し、アンテナパタンをソフトウェアで打ち上げ後に変更可能とする。今後どの規模の衛星にまで適用可能となるかは、まだ明確ではない。打上げは2018年を計画。
